I could never forget one night, when I was around 14, that my mom dug up some old Super8 films from the late seventies. Most of them were films from my older sister and I in our early birthdays, but there were also some beautiful movies of shows involving horses, like rodeos and circuses, and also some stunning images from many surgeries that my dad performed to horses as a vet student at the University of California at Davis.

Ever since I moved to Spain and my work has been related with moving images I have wanted to have all these films close to me and do something interesting with them. It hadn't occurred to me what to do with them until I heard a song that was just perfect for the images. This is how this evocative piece came to be, to show horses lives in and out of the horse-show. Healthy and sick horses dance in separate ways in these reminiscent images of family memories and love towards animals.
